Faith. Family. And the Pursuit of Vintage.

3 Grannie Squares is run by one little country girl: Me- Stacey Newton. It is the culmination of 25 years of attic crawls, basement dives, estate sale escapades and flea market antics. Join me in my pursuit of all things vintage.

About Me:

A Grade School Grannie

Ever since 3rd grade, I’ve been called a Granny.  Maybe it was the glasses or my sheer lack of balance but whatever the case, I was deemed an old soul at an early age. And much like the author and illustrator Tasha Tudor, I’ve always wondered if maybe I did, in fact, belong in another place and time.

Anyways, like every granny, I build nests. And nests require little bits of this and that. With that said, my inner magpie first started collecting around age 3.  I was given a flashlight and some change and set loose in the local outdoor flea market.  I think my first love was comic books. Then gum ball machine toys. Then Smurf figures. Then- well, you know, the list goes on.

As a “nest” builder, I wanted to start this website, shop, and blog to actually interact with my customers.  Get to know them, their histories and why they collect the things they do.  I have owned physical stores, worked in antique shops and done shows and booths for over 25 years at this point- and my favorite part of the job is you. That’s right- the person reading this and their story.  Whether it’s the book they’ve been searching for since childhood or helping them find just the right button for their knitted hat, I love connecting with my customers.  Because then they become my friends. And what better thing to collect than that? For as my Dad always said: “Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold.”

My Sisters and I circa 1982.

I wouldn’t stop crying until the photographer gave me the squeaky Donald Duck. Surely a sign of things to come.
